6.5 earthquake hits southern Greece

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 has hit southern Greece.

It was felt as far away as Athens and struck near the major city of Patras.

Residents of many villages were sent into panic as buildings were damaged, but there are so-far no reports of injuries.
