Brown's popularity slumps further

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown's authority has suffered another dramatic blow.

While Cabinet ministers maintain the Labour Party is united, there was bad news from voters.

An extensive poll for the Observer of 238 marginal seats points to a meltdown at the next election.

If true, it would be the party's worst result since 1935.
