French woman seriously burned after bus set on fire

In France, a 26 year old woman has been left with serious burns after a group of teenagers set fire to a bus in the city of Marseille.

French police have been braced for a surge of violence this weekend, on the first anniversary of three weeks of riots that swept through France's poor neighbourhoods last year.

Scattered violence was reported on Friday, with youths setting fire to 277 vehicles and 47 people arrested.

At the height of last year's rioting, about 1,400 cars were burned nationwide in a single night.
