New barrier plans for Thames to protect London from rising sea levels

Plans are being drawn up for a new €20 billion Thames Barrier to protect London from catastrophic flooding.

A feasibility study is being carried out by the Government.

Experts fear within 25 years, the existing barrier at Woolwich might not withstand the increased threat from climate change.
