Spain to seek 38,000 years in jail for Madrid bomb suspects

Published 06/11/2006

Spanish prosecutors say they will be seeking jail terms of more than 38,000 years for the main suspects in the Madrid train bombings.

The seven prime suspects are due to be put on trial next year in connection with the March 2004 attacks, which killed 191 people.

One of them is a Moroccan accused of supplying the cell phones used as detonators in the 10 bombs that ripped through commuter trains in the Spanish capital.
