Teenager shot dead at ice rink

Hundreds of skaters fled in horror after a teenage boy was shot dead at an ice

rink.

Police said up to 300 people were at the rink in Streatham, south east London,

when the gunman opened fire.

The 16-year-old black victim was taken to a south London hospital where he was

pronounced dead, a Scotland Yard spokeswoman said.

The shooting took place shortly before 11pm yesterday. It is not believed the

victim was skating at the time.

Detectives were today quizzing six male youths and one 18-year-old man at a

south London police station.
