16 killed in bomb attacks on Shi'ite markets in Baghdad

At least 16 people have been killed in two bomb attacks on predominantly Shi'ite neighbourhoods of Baghdad today.
Nine of the victims were killed in a suicide bombing in the Karradah district, while the other seven were killed in a car bombing in the Qahira area.
The attacks are believed to have been motivated by growing sectarian strife between Iraq's Shi'ite and Sunni communities that are pushing the country further towards all-out civil war.
