A ceasefire has come into effect in the Middle East after Palestinian forces agreed to stop rocket attacks and Israel claimed to have withdrawn all its forces from the Gaza Strip.
It is understood the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas phoned Ehud Olmert late last night, telling him that a ceasefire will be observed.
The truce could signal a long awaited summit between the two sides to restart peace talks in the Middle East.
