Caroline Wozniacki bra-stuffing attempt to impersonate Serena Williams draws criticism

Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki jokingly wears towels under her clothes as she plays a Gillette Federer Tour exhibition tennis match with Russia's Maria Sharapova in Sao Paulo, Brazil

Rory McIlroy's girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki tennis star stuffed her shirt and skirt with towels and pranced around the court at the weekend in an attempt to impersonate Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.

The 22-year-old Dane entertained crowds at an exhibition match against Maria Sharapova in Brazil, parading around with courtside towels stuffed down her kit.

The former world number one, whose golf star boyfriend was in the audience, later told a Press conference she was poking fun at her friend and fellow player Williams, who is renowned for her curves.

Wozniacki told reporters: “I really love the crowd here, they're open and they have a lot of fun.”

But not everybody shared her sense of humour. Her attempts at entertaining the crowd sparked complaints on Twitter and other social media outlets.

On one US internet forum, a poster wrote: ”Mocking and making fun of the bodies of black women for a laugh? Real funny, stupid white girl, real real funny.”

Serena Williams is yet to comment on the issue but is well known for referring to her voluptuous figure.
