Crash leaves driver seriously hurt

A driver has been seriously injured in a crash between a car and a lorry.

The accident happened at Saint James Interchange in Paisley.

The driver was trapped in his vehicle and had to be cut free by firefighters.

He was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley with serious injuries. No-one else was injured, the fire service said.

The east-bound carriageway of the A737 at the interchange was closed while police investigated the scene and removed the vehicles.

Officers asked for any witnesses to the crash to call them on 101.
