Virgin Atlantic is using animated characters for its new safety video

Sir Richard Branson's airline Virgin Atlantic has come up with a new form of pre-flight safety video.

Using animated characters, the video takes passengers through a history of different movie genres as the aircraft's emergency procedures are pointed out.

Created by design agency Art & Graft, the safety briefing takes inspiration from such cinema classics as Brief Encounter and 2001 a Space Odyssey.

British comedienne Morgana Robinson complements the video with voiceovers, setting the tone with different accents and impressions for each movie genre.

Virgin Atlantic productiion manager Leon Trigg said: "W e wanted to create a video that reflected the airline's love of cinema, while continuing to advance our reputation for quality and innovation."
