A group of fishermen in Florida got more than they bargained for when they went to the aid of an injured hammerhead shark - 20 baby sharks.

The men took two-and-a-half hours to pull the three-and-a-half metre fish from the murky water off the coast of Florida, but when they landed the shark it became apparent she was pregnant.

The men were then able to remove the babies one by one while trying to save the mother, but u nfortunately she did not survive her injuries. The fisherman were able to save and release 20 of her babies, which quickly swam off back into the sea.
