Almost three in five holidaymakers step off a plane in unsuitable clothing, according to a survey.
Nearly a third suffer in over-warm attire until they reach their destination hotel, the poll by TravelSupermarket found.
As many as 10% use the plane toilets to change clothing, the survey of 2,000 UK holidaymakers showed.
Around a quarter of those polled considered it was a hassle factoring in the changes in climate on the day of travel, with 66% reckoning comfort was the most important element of a travel outfit.
The survey also found that 26% enjoyed their holiday more when they were appropriately dressed.
