Meetings? What a waste of time

Most workers think meetings are a waste of time and believe they are more productive if they stay at their desks

One in 10 workers have fallen asleep during a meeting, while a similar number have been so bored they have invented a reason to leave, according to a new report.

One in three spend up to half the time during a presentation thinking about something else, a survey of more than 2,000 adults by electronic firm Sharp showed.

Many workers believe meetings are a waste of time, with only 16% saying they are inspiring.

Four out of five of those polled said they can be more productive by staying at their desks, while most thought talks went on too long.
