Three siblings share same birthday
Proud parents Jennifer and Driss Allali have spoken of their joy after their son was born on October 7 - the same birth date as his two older siblings.
Sami Allali came into the world 10 days overdue weighing 7lb 6oz following just a 10-minute labour at Eastbourne District General Hospital in East Sussex.
Mr Allali, an Arabic and English translator, said he was amazed Sami was born on the same date as three-year-old Adam and his five-year-old sister Najla.
Their mother said she hopes the incredible coincidence will give the siblings an even greater bond as they grow older.
Mrs Allali, 39, a brain injury clinical care manager, said: "It feels like fate.
"During the last few days of the pregnancy I thought, 'Gosh, this baby could also come on October 7'.
"My contractions built up over a period of a few days before we made a quick dash to the hospital. We just made it in. The fact that they all share the same birthday is just fantastic. They are going to be brothers and sisters but with the added excitement of having birthdays on the same date."
The couple, who live in Eastbourne, met in 2000 in Mr Allali's native Morocco where he was working at the time as a tour guide.
Najla was born two weeks overdue at 2am on October 7, 2005 at North Staffordshire Hospital. Adam was born two years later at the same hospital when the couple were living in Stoke-on-Trent.
Salford University graduate Mr Allali, 37, said: "I've heard that the odds on this happening are 48 million to one. It means the world to all of us. Sami's due date was on September 27 so we thought in the back of our minds as we got closer that it might happen again, then when it did we couldn't believe it. It'll make it very hard to forget their birthdays."
