A New York deli worker tackled a would-be thief with a machete

A gun-wielding criminal who targeted a New York deli got more than he bargained for when a sales assistant tackled the robber with a machete.

The thief entered the store demanding money, only for the worker to whip out the weapon and chase the robber out of the shop and across the car park.

The thwarted thief managed to get away, but without any money. Suffolk County Police are looking for the suspect.
