Aer Lingus has added the sunshine island of Lanzarote and two continental
cities — Munich and Milan — to its list of destinations from Belfast
International Airport this winter.
The Irish carrier is wooing Ulster holidaymakers with exciting new scheduled
service routes taking passengers to the Canaries and to ski resorts in
Austria and Italy.
The airline, which began its Heathrow service out of Aldergrove last
December, is also putting on an additional flight every week to Malaga in
Spain — giving passengers a choice of five days on which to travel.
Aer Lingus corporate affairs director Enda Corneille said: "We are
delighted to be able to offer three new routes on our network out of
Belfast, two of which are available for the first time to passengers in
Northern Ireland.
"We believe the new choice of destinations will prove very popular with
our customers with great city breaks to Munich and Milan and of course
Lanzarote is a popular winter sun spot.
"We are confident that the choice of routes, combined with our low
fares and high service values, will be a winner with the Northern Ireland
travelling public and we're delighted to have our quarter of a millionth
booked passenger on hand to make the announcement.
"We are well on our way to notching up our target of 500,000 passengers
in our first year of operation."
Flights to Munich and Milan will operate on three days a week and Lanzarote
on two days a week.
The airline, which began services out of Belfast International in December
last year, announced it had reached its quarter of a millionth booking.
The 250,000th booker, Julie Bradley, received two return flights to anywhere
on the airline's network from Belfast and was invited to help launch the
winter destinations.
Ms Bradley, who works for Mivan, had booked a flight to London Heathrow £
and found that it was to be her lucky day.
