Jonti and rider Laura Robinson were the stars of the Balmoral Show, winning the Connolly's Red Mills International Spectacular on day two.

Jonti and Laura edged out Lady Maria and Robert Bevis, who had their moment of glory on day one when triumphing in the Clive Richardson Ltd International Two Phase.

Uptown Girl and Daniel Coyle won the SJ7 Rydale International Speed and Power ahead of the Dermott Lennon-ridden Clinton Jack.

The prize fund for both national and international show jumping has reached an all-time high this year of £38,000.

The feature event at the Maze, the International Grand Prix, is worth £22,000 in prize money and takes place today.

The main arena staged the hackney, private driving and agricultural classes yesterday, while the children's ridden pony classes and the Inter Hunt Chase take place today.

Ten national and international classes will be staged over the three days - during which around 90,000 people are expected to attend the Maze site - when some of the UK and Ireland's most talented riders will battle it out for the big prizes.
