Former Northern Ireland Secretary and European Commissioner for Trade Peter Mandelson will oppose Eurosceptic MEP Daniel Hannan in an EU Referendum debate today.

Lobby group Manufacturing NI is hosting the showdown at the Belfast Harbour Commissioners' Office.

It will also feature DUP MEP Diane Dodds, whose party is taking a pro-Brexit line, as well as Denis Kennedy, former head of the European Commission in Belfast, and Irish Government agricultural economist Dr Thia Hennessy.

The Conservative Party's Daniel Hannan is the author of Why Vote Leave.

Manufacturing NI chief executive Stephen Kelly said: "We were absolutely delighted when Lord Mandelson, who has the highest level of experience both here in Northern Ireland and at EU level, indicated he would attend.

"We're also pleased to be able to offer members the opportunity to hear from Daniel Hannan, MEP."
