Tyrone cheese gets wings

Cheese from a co-operative of farmers in Tyrone will fly around the world after a major caterer signed up to serve it to passengers during flights.

Fivemiletown Creamery's goats' cheese pearls and mild goats' log will feature in passengers' meals after it reached a deal for an undisclosed sum with caterer Gate Gourmet.

The international caterer will feature the products in meals prepared for an airline it serves. Fivemiletown, which has 80 staff, described the deal as a “major breakthrough”.
