OECD says UK worst placed in G7 to withstand global downturn

Britain is the worst placed among the world's major econ-omies to withstand
the impact of a global slowdown – and the only one forecast to be in
recession this year, according to the respected Organisation for Economic
Co-operation and Development. The OECD says that the sharp downturn in the
British property market, and the increased importance of housing in the
economy, has led it to slash its forecasts.
