Audio firm making noises in the States

Belfast audio technology company APTX has signed a licensing deal with US speaker and earphone product maker Altec Lansing.

The firm made the announcement at the world's largest technology trade event, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Altec Lansing follows brands such as Sennheiser and Creative by licensing APTX's audio compression technology for use in wireless Bluetooth audio applications. The Pennsylvania firm is the maker of the first 'Works with iPhone' stereo speaker-dock system.
