Belfast Telegraph's search engine optimiser nominated in UK SEO poll

Friday, 15 October 2010

A poll on the most influential SEO (Search Engine Optimiser) in the UK has a Belfast-based internet professional among its nominees.

Barry Adams, an employee of Belfast company Visual Script - who manage SEO for belfasttelegraph.co.uk - is one of 33 nominees in the poll.

Barry moved to Northern Ireland from Holland last year.

Organised by Manchester SEO company Holistic Search, the poll first gathered nominations via Twitter before launching the actual voting process today.

Among the nominees are some of the UK's highest profile internet professionals such as David Naylor, Rishi Lankani, and the Critchlow brothers Will and Tom.

The internet marketing industry in general, and SEO specifically, is still somewhat in its infancy in Northern Ireland. There are encouraging signs indicating a growth of the internet industry's recognition in Northern Ireland and the nomination of a Northern Ireland based professional in this poll is one such sign.

Voting on the poll will remain open for the next few weeks with the winner announced some time in November.
