Friday, 19 March 2010

A Belfast medical company which develops systems for portable defibrillators has won contracts of around £150,000 in India, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

HeartSine’s export success comes after it joined Invest NI at the Arab Health exhibition in Dubai. HeartSine Technologies is supplying its ‘samaritan’ branded defibrillators for use by clinics and emergency services in the three markets.

The new deals were announced by Volker Brand, HeartSine’s vice-president in Europe. Mr Brand said: “As well as securing significant contracts for the easy-to-use defibrillators, we’ve lined up leads that are currently being followed by our sales teams worldwide.”

Invest NI trade director Dr Vicky Kell added: “This is very encouraging news, a great boost for the company and the Invest NI team. Arab Health is is, by far the most important exhibition and congress of its type in the Middle East and second largest in the world.”
