Internet search engine Google has been named as the most reputable company in Ireland for the second year in a row.

Cadbury, Kellogg's, Nokia and Volkswagen made up the rest of the the top five organisations, according to Corporate Reputations' second annual Ireland RepTrak 2011 study.

An Post was recognised for having the best reputation for an indigenous Irish organisation.

However, in the wake of the financial collapse, Irish banks made up the bottom of the 119 companies included in the poll.

Belfast-born Stephen Lusty is Google's director of operations and online sales in Dublin, responsible for the support architecture of Google's advertising business and managing the customer base and revenue for small and medium-sized clients through Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Lusty began his career as a student apprentice with Harland and Wolff in Belfast, moving into the high-tech sector in 1986 with Nortel Networks.

Of the top ten corporate reputations in Ireland, two were Irish, An Post at joint-eighth and Smyth's Toys, which was ranked tenth. Other high performing Irish companies in the top 20 include Easons, Arnotts, Dairygold, and the Irish Dairy Board.

Anglo Irish Bank was once again at the bottom of the rankings, finishing last out of the 119 organisations included in the survey.
