High tech products by Northern Ireland companies are to feature at a major conference in Germany this week.
Medica 2010 in Dusseldorf is the world's biggest healthcare and biotech event and will be showcasing the work of 13 firms based here.
They will be among 4,500 exhibitors at the event, which is expected to attract almost 140,000 industry visitors from 40 countries over three days.
The Invest NI exhibition stand brings together five firms highlighting the expertise of Northern Ireland companies, as well as Queen's University and the University of Ulster.
Another four firms are taking part in an Invest NI trade visit, while four more are exhibiting independently.
Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI trade director, said the event is the perfect platform for companies to display their expertise.
"Our areas of expertise include diagnostics, devices, emergency cardiac treatment and medical sensors used particularly in the latest connected health technology. Over the years, a number of our companies have made important contacts that have either led to direct business or to knowledge transfer agreements.
"The event, furthermore, attracts visitors from emerging nations which are investing in medical related projects."
