Aerospace components, garden sheds and golfers' ankle wraps are some of the products Northern Ireland firms are now selling in Germany, in a year which has seen £2m of new business secured in the European country.
Invest NI said its office in Dusseldorf provided advice and generated leads for the firms. The office has been operating as a trade development centre for the German and wider European markets since July 2007.
The Northern Ireland companies have also been able to use Germany as a springboard into other European markets including France, Switzerland and Spain.
Invest NI also said its in- market support has helped home-grown construction companies to identify suitable partners, research local regulations and access language support in European locations.
Londonderry-based Maydown Precision Engineering has enjoyed success in Germany.
Keith Kyle, export sales manager at Yardmaster, a garden shed manufacturer from Draperstown, said a breakthrough deal with Hellwig, the DIY chain, was critical to its success.
