Over 150 members of the advertising and media industry joined forces last week at a jam-packed luncheon in Ten Square Hotel to celebrate achievements of individuals in the industry over the last few decades.

The lunch, hosted by the Publicity Association of Northern Ireland (PANI) President Basil Singleton, saw the PANI President himself presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards following an overwhelmingly popular motion from the members.

President Basil Singleton thanked the members for their on-going support and continued cooperation with the body’s objectives to maintain and grow membership. Chair of PANI Tony Axon said: “This was our inaugural annual PANI President’s lunch and we were very pleased that there was a record turnout of past PANI Chairs and PANI Awards sponsors as well as members of the industry from a broad spectrum of media agencies, media outlets and in-house marketing and advertising sales teams. The past chairs gathered from all over the UK for an historic photograph at Belfast City Hall before lunch and later enjoyed an afternoon’s networking and industry discussions.”

Billy Mawhinney, who recently chaired the judging panel at the successful PANI Creative Awards in April, reported back on the competition and his learnings from it.

He also announced the awards will return in April 2014.
