Kelsius wins hat-trick of top NHS tenders nationwide

Belfast company Kelsius is turning up the heat on its competition after winning a hat-trick of NHS tenders in England worth a total of around £250,000.

The firm, based at the Northern Ireland Science Park, provides web-based monitoring and alarming solutions for the food, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

Its wireless to web temperature monitoring systems have been chosen by three major NHS Trusts— the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, North Bristol NHS Trust and the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Les Curran, chief executive of Kelsius, said: “To win three consecutive European tenders is an endorsement of our market leadership position in wireless temperature monitoring. The Healthcare sector is quickly realising the proven advantages of our cold chain portal in helping to protect the integrity of products.”

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust is deploying the Kelsius solution in the Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital. The Trust employs over 14,000 staff across eight sites and treats around a million patients a year.

North Bristol NHS Trust delivers care to a population of over 500,000 mainly in South Gloucestershire and the city of Bristol. It will deploy the Kelsius solution throughout all Pathology labs in its new build Southmead Hospital.

The Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is deploying the Kelsius solution throughout 13 departments in a new teaching hospital.
