Sinead McLaughlin has been appointed as the new chief executive of Londonderry Chamber of Commerce.
She replaces Janice Tracey who stepped down in February after 13 years with the chamber.
Ms McLaughlin, who has been acting chief executive for the past two months, is the chamber’s former business operations manager.
She said: “I will have a strong commercial focus and my central and most important strength is my commitment to our members.
“I will ensure that members become more involved in programmes and activities in order to ensure that everything we do is directly relevant to their needs.”
The new chief executive added that it is also important to develop existing partnerships with key stakeholders in the city and with local and regional business organisations. “I want to build on these business alliances in order to identify and address the issues which will support positive economic development and business growth,” she said.
Chamber president Jim Sammon said Ms McLaughlin “brings with her a wealth of management experience having worked with a range of business sectors for so many years in this region”.
