New posts created by opening of three social enterprises

More than 20 new jobs are to be created with the establishment of three social enterprise businesses.

Accept Care Social Firms Limited in Bangor is to set up two Daisies Cafes in Belfast and Lurgan, creating 11 new jobs, while the 12 remaining positions will be created in a community farm project.

The original Daisies Cafe in Newtownards helps people access training and employment opportunities.

The award-winning social firm is a fully-operational cafe, which offers a carefully planned, supportive working environment for the proportion of its workforce with mental ill health or a learning disability.

Derek McClure, operations director at Accept Care Group, said that the new developments would help strengthen the growing social enterprise sector.

Invest NI has been working with the firm to develop a business plan for a number of new projects and is supporting the new jobs through its Jobs Fund.
