The Northern Ireland Science Park (NISP) has become one of |the first organisations in Northern Ireland to offer a hosted telephony service.
Telecoms and IT solutions company Atlas Communications said the system ensures tenants based at NISP are at the forefront of communications technology.
Each user will pay a monthly fee for a telephone, direct dial number and messaging and email integration. Atlas will manage tenants’ telephone lines, minutes and high capacity internet bandwidth through their own network.
Mervyn Watley, director of corporate real estate at NISP said: “Faster and more efficient connections are no longer a luxury when it comes to doing business.
“We pride ourselves on being able to offer tenants flexible property solutions that will adapt and grow with their company. The facility provided by Atlas enables us to cater for new and expanding tenants by providing them with a communications facility that requires no investment in a phone system that they may quickly grow out of.”
Atlas account manager Neil Todd said: “Hosted telephony is perfect for business. It provides a fully flexible telecoms service that is future proofed for up to date technologies such as unified communications and teleworking solutions which cater for the increasingly mobile workforce. We ‘host’ this service which means there is very limited hardware onsite and no large upfront costs. It is kind of like a ‘pay-as-you-use’ service.
“In the telecoms industry we found businesses no longer want to invest in phone systems and hardware.”
