CEM Systems, part of Tyco Security Products, has installed its AC2000 security systems at Concourse 3, Terminal 3, as part of a multibillion dollar program to make Dubai International one of the world's largest airports by 2025. Concourse 3 is built to accommodate 18 aircraft stands for exclusive use by Emirates and the Airbus A380 superjumbo.
More than 1,200 smart card readers were installed to secure air-side and land-side doors within the airport, as well as a video interface system which provides the ability to associate access control alarms with real-time or pre-recorded digital video clips.
Philip Verner, regional sales director for CEM Systems, said Dubai International joins some of the world's biggest aviation sites by using the AC2000 system.
"As one of the world's largest and most progressive airports, we are proud that Dubai International Airport has selected a CEM solution and we look forward to working in partnership with them on their future development plans," he said.
Last month CEM Systems, based in east Belfast, announced that it had completed the installation of the AC2000 security management system at the Abu Dhabi Investment Council headquarters in Al Bahar Towers.
