A Craigavon shopping centre has reported a rise in footfall and full occupation despite the ongoing gloom in the retail sector.
Statistics published by Experian, which tracks footfall at outlets across the UK and Ireland, indicate the Northern Ireland average was down 3.7% over August to October and on a UK-wide basis had fallen by 3.4% year-on-year.
However the Rushmere shopping centre recorded an average 7.4% increase in the number of customers visiting between the three months, compared with the same period last year.
Rushmere will also add two new tenants this month with the arrival of outdoor fashion retailer Trespass and fast-growing variety retailer B-amp;M Stores - which means the shopping centre will now be fully let.
The complex is home to 70 retailers and food outlets across its mall and retail park, including Debenhams, H-amp;M, Starbucks, TK Maxx and Sainsbury's.
