Travel agent seals public sector deal

Corporate travel specialists FCm Travel Solutions has been awarded a framework agreement by the procurement partner for UK public services.

The company, which opened an office in Belfast in 2007, successfully tendered to provide travel management services to UK government departments.

It has looked after corporate travel for the UK Department of Health since 2004.

Ciaran Kelly, the company's Belfast-based general manager, said: "We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this agreement as it gives us an unprecedented opportunity to develop our public sector business and to demonstrate how we can take cost out of the government's travel spend in the current economic climate

"Since the start of the recession three years ago, we have worked extremely effectively with private sector clients to manage their travel spend to drive efficiencies and deliver savings."

FCm's public sector division will be led by director of sales David Thomas.
