Work to start on entertainment village

Work is due to start on a new leisure complex in Craigavon, which is to include an eight-screen cinema.

The development, known as Craigavon Entertainment Village, will be close to Rushmere Shopping Centre on the former Irish Road Motors site at Highfield. Omniplex Cinemas will be the anchor tenant at the site with a eight-screen digital cinema -its 12th opening in Northern Ireland.

The development is being built by JH Turkington in Portadown, which also built Eastpoint Entertainment Village in Dundonald, also the home of an Omniplex.

Commercial property consultants Osborne King is handling lettings from the scheme, and said it had already received "strong interest" from potential operators of its restaurant units.
