Chilled warehouse units available

A Northern Ireland haulage company is letting out chilled warehouse units in Co Tyrone.

Family company Allingham Transport in Cookstown said it wants to open up new sites across the province, so is letting out part of its main facility.

John and Maureen Allingham founded the company in 1969.

Andrew Gawley of letting agents Lisney said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for an incoming company to take advantage of these high-specification premises and the future expansion plans of Allingham Transport will offer a tenant excellent warehouse space."

The property offers up to 28,000 sq ft of chilled warehouse facilities.

Thomas Allingham - the son of the company's founders - said: "The warehousing at our Cookstown site will be ideal for a range of potential occupants.

"The secure, 3.35-acre site has served Allingham Transport well during the 48 years that Cookstown has been our primary base of operations.

"And, as we enter a new phase of expansion, I'm confident that prospective tenants will share in the success that the location has brought us as a company."

Meanwhile, in Lisburn, around 130,000 sq ft of warehouse, trade counter and office accommodation is also now available to let.

Warehouse units from 6,000 sq ft to 98,000 sq ft are available at Greenwood Business Park on Ballinderry Road in Lisburn after its refurbishment. The site was bought by Plastec NI Ltd in 2012.

CBRE director David Wright said: "There has been substantial investment in Greenwood Business Park to create state-of-the art capabilities.

"This is in response to the increasing demand for warehouse and logistical space in Northern Ireland from both local and global companies.

"With close proximity to a number of well-established industrial estates, as well as being bordered by the Belfast to Dublin railway line and the M1 motorway which links Belfast to Lisburn and then on to Dublin, Greenwood Business Park offers a fantastic location for both local companies wishing to expand and global companies seeking a new manufacturing base, logistics hub or trade counter unit.

"Location is key and given the short 90-minute journey from Lisburn to Dublin and 15-minute journey from Lisburn to Belfast this modern space will prove attractive to companies wanting ease of access across the island of Ireland."

Manufacturer Lecky is already based at the park.

Meanwhile, a major piece of farmland just outside Antrim town is now on sale. The piece of land on Seven Mile Straight in Antrim has come on to the market with planning permission already in place for a stables, a two-storey dwelling and a double garage.

The 3.5-acre site has become available after a previous sale fell through, and comes with an asking price of £100,000. Foundations have already been laid at the site to protect consent for the building work to go ahead.

Ian McCabe from O'Connor Kennedy Turtle, the estate agent handling the sale, said: "It is a picturesque rural setting within commuting distance of Belfast. It would appeal to either a small builder/ developers or an occupier with equestrian interests."
