A question of money: Cold weather query

Published 11/01/2010

Question: I'm a pensioner, but I'm not receiving cold weather payments from the Government. Who should get these?

Answer: Payments should be made automatically to these entitled to them — vulnerable people on very low incomes. Those entitled include pensioners on State Pension Credit and also people receiving Income Support, income-based Jobseekers Allowance or income-based Employment and Support Allowance and who also receive a relevant premium on their payment, a child tax credit with a disability or severe disability element, or have a child under five in the household.
