Approximately 100 new jobs are being created with the opening of a new McDonald's at a Co Down retail park in a £2m investment.

The new restaurant will be based at The Outlet in Banbridge, and is part of the development's latest expansion.

The franchisee is John McCollum, who already owns a McDonald's at the Sprucefield Shopping Centre, near Lisburn.

Mr McCollum is also buying over and revamping the restaurant at the Damolly Retail Park in Newry.

The new restaurants will feature the latest technology and ordering systems.

The burger chain is spending millions adding touch-screen systems as part of a major revamp across its outlets.

McDonald's has operated in Northern Ireland for 23 years and has more than two dozen stores across the region.

The newest location is scheduled to open its doors on October 19.

Franchisee Mr McCollum said that the new restaurant at The Outlet would feature touch-screen systems, a dual-lane drive-through, table service and more.

"We've been dealing with The Outlet for some time," he explained.

"There will be about 100 jobs. There are currently 65 in training at the moment."

Mr McCollum is the owner and operators of JMC Restaurants Ltd.
