30 jobs as diner Eddie Rocket's opens third branch
American-style diner chain Eddie Rocket's is creating 30 jobs as it opens its third restaurant here today.
The new site in Boucher Crescent in south Belfast was formerly occupied by rival Ed's Easy Diner, which closed just days before Christmas.
Franchise holder Justin Ward already runs the popular Eddie Rocket's restaurant on the Lisburn Road in the city, as well as another in Newry.
The company offered to employ the staff made redundant when Ed's Easy Diner shut. Eight of them will start work next week.
Mr Ward said: "Eddie Rocket's has proven incredibly popular with Northern Irish consumers since its arrival in 2015, and we are committed to further expanding the franchise throughout the province in the future."
Another branch is to be opened in Belfast city centre in the near future.
