There can be few stronger endorsements for the reliability and resilience of an IT and communications infrastructure than that of a customer dealing in the business of life.

The 3fivetwo Group, one of Northern Ireland's most progressive private healthcare companies, said it didn't think twice when it came to choosing BT Business in Northern Ireland to supply its wide area network (WAN) and mobile services.

Stability and security are high up its list of priorities, so the decision was easy.

"It was a no brainer for us when it came to choosing BT," The 3fivetwo Group's IT Manager Christopher Allen said. "They're so established and a very safe pair of hands; that stability is key for us because in healthcare you can't risk an unstable network."

The 3fivetwo Group owns multiple healthcare-focused businesses, including, Kingsbridge Private Hospital, Origin Fertility, H3 Health Insurance, 3fivetwo Training Academy, Cosmetech, DotComDr and Sweeney Eye and Hearing care. Its mission is to become a world-class provider of healthcare solutions by putting patients to the forefront of everything it does and to do that it needs an IT and communications network of some quality.

Paul Convery, Head of BT Business in Northern Ireland said: "A high-preforming network is particularly important as companies like The 3fivetwo Group become more reliant on the cloud for access to business applications and data storage, particularly if they operate across diverse locations," he said. "That can put pressure on the IT team to keep the business connected - to make sure employees can communicate, access the applications they need with speed, ease, and reliability; and do all of it securely."

Sarah Callender, Field Account Manager for BT, helped ease that pressure on Chris and his team by accessing BT Business's raft of specialists to find the right solutions for the Group.

"We have worked with The 3fivetwo Group, in partnership with local IT solutions company Nitec to build a network solution that matches the needs of the Group's business," she said. "It wasn't a one-size-fits-all approach but rather a bespoke solution based on gaining a real understanding of their business needs."

"To that end we provided a WAN connecting all of their sites so that they can share information and applications securely.

"This allows them to access their emails and CRM from any of their multiple sites as well as being able to back up their data centrally and carry voice across the network.

"For internet connectivity they also chose BT Net leased lines. As they don't share bandwidth with anyone else this gives them guaranteed upload and download speeds of up to 10GB."

And for mobile, 3fivetwo again turned to BT.

"The 3fivetwo Group also chose us for all their mobile needs through our EE network. This enables their employees to work more effectively on the move and has the ability to evolve as their business changes and grows."

Chris has certainly benefitted from BT's products.

"I have been able to centralise my systems and reduce costs while at the same time becoming more resilient when it comes to handling sensitive data," he said. "The WAN connections between our sites mean we can easily run a centralised patient management system and have the option of adding new sites as and when we need them."

It is clear The 3fivetwo Group has been on a path of stellar growth over the last few years, one which shows no signs of slowing down.

Together with the supportive partnership of BT Business in Northern Ireland providing bespoke IT and communications infrastructure, those bold ambitions for the future are within reach.
