Eight Northern Ireland companies are set to compete in the all-island Ulster Bank Business Achievers awards final in Dublin, and four of them are in Belfast.

Our local finalists will move forward to compete against winners from Leinster, Munster and Connaught, with the all-island winners to be announced on December 3 at a gala event.

The category winners were selected from over 200 entries from across Ulster and were presented with prizes in the provincial stage of the awards at the Ulster Museum, Belfast.

Each of the companies won their respective category at the Ulster stage of the competition, run in association with Invest NI, InterTradeIreland, the Belfast Telegraph, and SmallBusinessCan.com.

This year a new People’s Choice award was introduced and members of the public can still vote for their company of preference by visiting Small Business Can. Voting closes at noon on December 3.

Richard Donnan, Head of Ulster Bank Northern Ireland, said: “Ulster has a history of punching above its weight when it comes to lifting the top title in the Ulster Bank Business Achievers, as the four most recent overall Business Achievers were CDE Global, TG Eakin, Andor and Almac. We are confident that the eight companies this year will represent Ulster well again.

“The Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards is a flagship programme for us, helping us communicate our support for businesses."

He added: "The Awards recognise and reward entrepreneurship, one of the most important components of any economy.”

The overall winner will walk away with a prize package that includes a €50,000 publishing bursary with the Belfast Telegraph, expert business mentoring from Enterprise Ireland, a full-service communications workshop and significant media exposure.
