Antrim engineering firm lands export deal for its tanks

By John Mulgrew

A Co Antrim firm which produces portable tanks used in the aftermath of oil spills has landed an export deal in New Zealand.

Fast Engineering in Antrim has landed a five-year contract with Maritime New Zealand, to supply its Fastank range of modular and portable tanks, to help tackle oil spills.

Seamus Connolly, managing director of Fast Engineering, said: "We are delighted with the outcome of this tender and that Maritime New Zealand have made the long journey to visit with us.

"We are confident that the Fastank range will add significant value to Maritime New Zealand's oil spill response preparedness."

Fast Engineering was set up in 1981 by Mr Connolly, to produce its Fastank liquid storage container.

The products are now widely used by the oil industry worldwide.
