Argos creates 425 new jobs for festive season

Argos is to create over 400 seasonal jobs in Northern Ireland.

The firm is looking for 425 helpers to work in its stores in the run up to Christmas.

The roles are for up to three months, with opportunities to extend to four months and potentially even a permanent employment contract if vacancies are available in stores.

The compnay is hiring a total 12,000 temporary staff in the run-up to the busy Christmas shopping period and already employs around 25,000 across the UK.

The temporary staff are spread across the 740 Argos stores in the UK and Republic and will benefit from an immediate 10% staff discount, with 20% off at sister company Homebase..

John Walden, managing director of Argos, said: "Argos is hoping the announcement will be welcome news in what is a challenging jobseeker's market.

"Argos is a fast-paced, exciting and interesting place to be during the festive season so we are looking for passionate and enthusiastic staff to join our teams."
