Asda workers set to net bonuses worth £567,000
Nearly 4,000 workers at supermarket Asda’s 16 Northern Ireland stores will share in a £567,000 bonus this week.
The payout is part of a £26.9m pot set aside for Asda’s UK |stores and will result in full-time workers receiving a bonus of £350 each.
In addition, the company said employees in its Bangor, Belfast Shore Road and Dundonald stores have exceeded their annual target and will receive a ‘superbonus’ of up to £437. The Bangor store was the top performing store in Northern Ireland.
Asda is owned by US company Walmart which was due to release its results.
“Our bonus payout is directly linked to our stores performance, so to be able to offer a bonus to our colleagues during challenging times, is testament to the fact that Asda is giving consumers what they want — quality and value every day,” Andy Clarke, CEO and President of Asda said.
