Co Tyrone baby food company Heavenly Tasty Organics has scooped a prize at the Maternity & Infant Awards in Dublin for its new range of organic baby and toddler snacks.

Coconut Squishies - dairy-free smoothies made from coconut milk and fruit puree - fought off stiff competition from big name brands to win the best organic product category.

Managing director Shauna McCarney-Blair said: "We honestly never expected to win. We knew we were up against big name brands and as our range is still very new we really didn't think we would be coming home with an award. It is a great achievement for our growing brand and we are so grateful for the continued support we have received."

From small beginnings in the village of Augher, the family-run business is building an impressive export portfolio that includes the UK, Ireland, France and the Middle East.

Earlier this month, Business Telegraph reported the firm's move into the Spanish market, in a deal worth £250,000. Heavenly's organic snacks are now being sold in four of El Corte Ingles' supermarket stores, and a further 100 supermarkets from next year.
