Baby steps for organic food firm
An organic baby food firm in Cookstown is investing almost £60,000 in the manufacture and marketing of a range of products for markets in Ireland and Great Britain.
Heavenly Tasty Organics, established last year by Shauna McCarney, recently won major business awards in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with Shauna being chosen as Indigenous Innovation and Entrepreneur winner in the first Women in Business Awards, and Business Parent of the Year in awards organised by the Maternity and Infant magazine in the Republic of Ireland.
Its products are stocked in SuperValu stores in the region.
Invest NI is providing over £20,000 to help the small business produce and market its portfolio of eight fresh fruit and vegetable-based products.
The support will also assist the company in achieving British Retail Consortium accreditation.
Ms McCarney, who set up the firm after finding it difficult to source fresh organic foods for her children, said: "Heavenly Tasty Organics was launched to offer mothers alternative products that are natural, nutritious and convenient."
