Belfast bar fined for not having entertainment licence
A Northern Ireland pub was fined £1,000 for allowing entertainment to be provided on the premises last December, when no entertainments licence was in force.
Dicey Reilly’s Ltd, trading as Fitzgeralds Bar, on the New Lodge Road, was also given a conditional discharge for a period of 12 months for a similar offence detected by Belfast City Council officials in October 2016.
Stephen Mailey, director of the company, was fined £385 and given a conditional discharge for two offences for allowing entertainment to be provided on the premises in December 2016. He also received conditional discharges for 12 months for two offences relating to allowing entertainment to be provided on the premises in October 2016.
Aileen Campbell, manager of the bar, was fined £385 for offences for allowing entertainment to be provided on the premises in December 2016, and also received a conditional discharge for 12 months in relation to a similar offence in October 2016.
The company, Mr Mailey and Ms Campbell were also ordered to pay costs to Belfast City Council, who brought the prosecutions.
