Belfast-based pub group Botanic Inns has won a top prize at the UK-wide Publican Awards.
The company, which employs around 600 people, was named Multiple Operator of the Year at a ceremony in London, defeating companies from across England to win in the category of firms with two to 19 outlets. Botanic Inns has recently added to its portfolio with the purchase of Horatio Todd's in east Belfast, which followed investments including Denvir's Hotel in Downpatrick and Molly Brown's in Newtownards.
Stephen Magorrian, the company's managing director said: "It is a magnificent achievement for Botanic Inns to have won this award and I'm extremely proud of our team. It is very rewarding to be recognised amongst our peers across the UK for the excellence and success of our outlets.
"When we benchmark ourselves against the best the UK has to offer and win, it says a lot not only for Botanic Inns, but for the hospitality sector as a whole. As an industry we must continue to strive to support and develop the local economy by delivering first class experiences for both local customers and visitors alike."
Botanic Inns owns a range of bars, hotels and restaurants including Apartment, The Botanic Inn, The Taphouse, Scratch Nightclub, The Globe, The Kings Head, The Kitchen Bar, Madison's Hotel, DR:NK, McHughs and The Northern Whig.
