The Belfast Telegraph Business Awards get under way tonight at the Culloden Hotel.

The awards gala - which is being run in association with British Airways - is a great platform for companies who aren't often in the headlines but are diligently achieving great things at home and abroad.

A host of companies are vying to pick up a gong this evening, marking their contributions to Northern Ireland business.

Hosted this year by BBC’s Wendy Austin and entertainment provided by mentalist David Meade, the leading Northern Ireland Business Awards are an event to remember and will provide excellent networking opportunities.

Trophies will be presented in the following categories; Excellence in Marketing; Excellence in Exporting; Excellence in the Development of Management and Leadership; Excellence in Innovation; Outstanding Service to Business; Best Use of Digital and/or Social Media; Young Businessperson of the Year; Excellence in Technology; Best Small / Medium Business and Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility.

Non-entry categories which are selected by the judging panel include Businessperson of the Year and the 2015 overall Business of the Year.

Professor John Simpson is the chairman of the judging panel for the awards.

Mr Simpson said: "Northern Ireland is home to many businesses which are succeeding in an uncertain world.

"Success comes in many forms. The business may be growing and capturing new markets.
